How Petrel collects, uses, and protects your information when you use https://petrel.day.
Effective June 3, 2026
Overview
Petrel ("we", "us") is a calendar butler that reads your schedule, prepares meeting prep, and helps you plan — with your approval before anything is written to your calendar.
This policy describes what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
When you use the service, we may process:
- Account information from Google sign-in (name, email address, profile picture).
- Google Calendar data you authorize (events, calendars, free/busy, and related metadata).
- Messages you send to the butler and notes stored as memory to personalize responses.
- Usage data such as token consumption for AI features and basic product analytics needed to operate the service.
- Billing information processed by Stripe if you subscribe to a paid plan (we do not store full payment card numbers).
How we use information
We use your information to mirror your calendar, generate prep suggestions, run the butler chat, queue calendar changes for your approval, and maintain your account.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read your calendar except when you ask for support and give permission, when required for security or legal compliance, or when aggregated and anonymized for operations.
Google user data
Petrel's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy).
When you sign in with Google, we request access to your basic profile (name, email, profile picture) and Google Calendar. We use Calendar data only to provide calendar features inside the app — mirroring your schedule, prep suggestions, and calendar changes you approve.
- calendar — read your calendars and events, detect conflicts, and show your schedule in the app.
- calendar.events — create, update, or delete events on your Google Calendar only after you approve a pending change.
Service providers
We rely on trusted processors to run the product, including:
- Google — sign-in and Calendar API access you explicitly authorize.
- Supabase — authentication, database, and secure storage.
- Cloudflare — AI inference for chat and embeddings.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Stripe — subscription billing (if you upgrade).
Retention and deletion
We retain account and calendar mirror data while your account is active. Calendar events you approve remain on your Google Calendar even if you stop using the app.
To delete your account and remove stored mirror data, email privacy@petrel.day from the address on your Google account. We will confirm and delete your account data within 30 days, except where retention is required for security, billing, or legal compliance.
You can revoke Google Calendar access at any time in your Google Account permissions or disconnect in Petrel settings.
Your choices
You can revoke Google Calendar access in Google Account settings or disconnect in Petrel settings.
Calendar writes always require your approval before they reach Google Calendar.
